And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.

And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

Or if any one swear rashly with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall utter rashly with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these [things] .

And Jephthah vowed a vow unto Jehovah, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver the children of Ammon into my hand,

But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever he pleased.

It is a snare to a man rashly to say, [It is] holy, And after vows to make inquiry.

For in the multitude of dreams there are vanities, and in many words: but fear thou God.

The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness; and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.

And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
