And a sojourner^H1616 shalt thou not wrong,^H3238 neither shalt thou oppress^H3905 him: for ye were sojourners^H1616 in the land^H776 of Egypt.^H4714

Beware^H8104 that there be not a base^H1100 thought^H1697 in thy heart,^H3824 saying,^H559 The seventh^H7651 year,^H8141 the year^H8141 of release,^H8059 is at hand;^H7126 and thine eye^H5869 be evil^H7489 against thy poor^H34 brother,^H251 and thou give^H5414 him nought; and he cry^H7121 unto Jehovah^H3068 against thee, and it be sin^H2399 unto thee.

Butter^H2529 of the herd,^H1241 and milk^H2461 of the flock,^H6629 With fat^H2459 of lambs,^H3733 And rams^H352 of the breed^H1121 of Bashan,^H1316 and goats,^H6260 With the^H2459 finest^H3629 of the wheat;^H2406 And of the^H2561 blood^H1818 of the grape^H6025 thou drankest^H8354 wine.

For he hath oppressed^H7533 and forsaken^H5800 the poor;^H1800 He hath violently taken away^H1497 a house,^H1004 and he shall not build^H1129 it up.

Because of the oppression^H7701 of the poor,^H6041 because of the sighing^H603 of the needy,^H34 Now will I arise,^H6965 saith^H559 Jehovah;^H3068 I will set^H7896 him in the safety^H3468 he panteth^H6315 for.

I know^H3045 that Jehovah^H3068 will maintain^H6213 the cause^H1779 of the afflicted,^H6041 And justice^H4941 for the needy.^H34

Rob^H1497 not the poor,^H1800 because he is poor;^H1800 Neither oppress^H1792 the afflicted^H6041 in the gate:^H8179

Then I returned^H7725 and saw^H7200 all the oppressions^H6217 that are done^H6213 under the sun:^H8121 and, behold, the tears^H1832 of such as were oppressed,^H6231 and they had no comforter;^H5162 and on the side^H3027 of their oppressors^H6231 there was power;^H3581 but they had no comforter.^H5162

learn^H3925 to do well;^H3190 seek^H1875 justice,^H4941 relieve^H833 the oppressed,^H2541 judge^H8199 the fatherless,^H3490 plead^H7378 for the widow.^H490

Woe^H1945 to the crown^H5850 of pride^H1348 of the drunkards^H7910 of Ephraim,^H669 and to the fading^H5034 flower^H6731 of his glorious^H6643 beauty,^H8597 which is on the head^H7218 of the fat^H8081 valley^H1516 of them that are overcome^H1986 with wine!^H3196

Is not this the fast^H6685 that I have chosen:^H977 to loose^H6605 the bonds^H2784 of wickedness,^H7562 to undo^H5425 the bands^H92 of the yoke,^H4133 and to let the oppressed^H7533 go^H7971 free,^H2670 and that ye break^H5423 every yoke?^H4133

For thus hath Jehovah^H3068 of hosts^H6635 said,^H559 Hew ye down^H3772 trees,^H6097 and cast^H8210 up a mound^H5550 against Jerusalem:^H3389 this is the city^H5892 to be visited;^H6485 she is wholly oppression^H6233 in the midst^H7130 of her.

Because ye are glad,^H8055 because ye rejoice,^H8055 O ye that plunder^H8154 my heritage,^H5159 because ye are wanton^H6335 as a heifer^H5697 that treadeth out [the grain],^H1877 and neigh^H6670 as strong horses;^H47

Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 the king^H4428 of Babylon^H894 hath devoured^H398 me, he hath crushed^H2000 me, he hath made^H3322 me an empty^H7385 vessel,^H3627 he hath, like a monster,^H8577 swallowed me up,^H1104 he hath filled^H4390 his maw^H3770 with my delicacies;^H5730 he hath cast me out.^H1740

In thee have they taken^H3947 bribes^H7810 to shed^H8210 blood;^H1818 thou hast taken^H3947 interest^H5392 and increase,^H8636 and thou hast greedily gained^H1214 of thy neighbors^H7453 by oppression,^H6233 and hast forgotten^H7911 me, saith^H5002 the Lord^H136 Jehovah.^H3069

The people^H5971 of the land^H776 have used oppression,^H6231 and exercised^H1497 robbery;^H1498 yea, they have vexed^H3238 the poor^H6041 and needy,^H34 and have oppressed^H6231 the sojourner^H1616 wrongfully.^H4941

Ye shall eat^H398 the flesh^H1320 of the mighty,^H1368 and drink^H8354 the blood^H1818 of the princes^H5387 of the earth,^H776 of rams,^H352 of lambs,^H3733 and of goats,^H6260 of bullocks,^H6499 all of them fatlings^H4806 of Bashan.^H1316

Thus saith^H559 Jehovah:^H3068 For three^H7969 transgressions^H6588 of Israel,^H3478 yea, for four,^H702 I will not turn away^H7725 the punishment thereof; because they have sold^H4376 the righteous^H6662 for silver,^H3701 and the needy^H34 for a pair of shoes—^H5275

and they lay themselves down^H5186 beside^H681 every altar^H4196 upon clothes^H899 taken in pledge;^H2254 and in the house^H1004 of their God^H430 they drink^H8354 the wine^H3196 of such as have been fined.^H6064

Shall two^H8147 walk^H3212 together,^H3162 except^H1115 they have agreed?^H3259

For they know^H3045 not to do^H6213 right,^H5229 saith^H5002 Jehovah,^H3068 who store^H686 up violence^H2555 and robbery^H7701 in their palaces.^H759

Woe^H1945 to them that are at ease^H7600 in Zion,^H6726 and to them that are secure^H982 in the mountain^H2022 of Samaria,^H8111 the notable^H5344 men of the chief^H7225 of the nations,^H1471 to whom the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478 come!^H935

Woe^H1945 to them that devise^H2803 iniquity^H205 and work^H6466 evil^H7451 upon their beds!^H4904 when the morning^H1242 is light,^H216 they practise^H6213 it, because it is^H3426 in the power^H410 of their hand.^H3027

And I said,^H559 Hear,^H8085 I pray you, ye heads^H7218 of Jacob,^H3290 and rulers^H7101 of the house^H1004 of Israel:^H3478 is it not for you to know^H3045 justice?^H4941

and oppress^H6231 not the widow,^H490 nor the fatherless,^H3490 the sojourner,^H1616 nor the poor;^H6041 and let none of you devise^H2803 evil^H7451 against^H376 his brother^H251 in your heart.^H3824

Come^G71 now,^G3568 ye rich,^G4145 weep^G2799 and howl^G3649 for^G1909 your^G5216 miseries^G5004 that are coming upon^G1904 you.
