Then David^H1732 and the people^H5971 that were with him lifted up^H5375 their voice^H6963 and wept,^H1058 until they had no more power^H3581 to weep.^H1058

Mine eye^H5869 wasteth^H6244 away because of grief;^H3708 It waxeth old^H6275 because of all mine adversaries.^H6887

Have mercy^H2603 upon me, O Jehovah,^H3068 for I am in distress:^H6887 Mine eye^H5869 wasteth^H6244 away with grief,^H3708 [yea], my soul^H5315 and my body.^H990

Therefore said^H559 I, Look away^H8159 from me, I will weep^H1065 bitterly;^H4843 labor^H213 not to comfort^H5162 me for the destruction^H7701 of the daughter^H1323 of my people.^H5971

Thy sons^H1121 have fainted,^H5968 they lie^H7901 at the head^H7218 of all the streets,^H2351 as an antelope^H8377 in a net;^H4364 they are full^H4392 of the wrath^H2534 of Jehovah,^H3068 the rebuke^H1606 of thy God.^H430

Behold, the voice^H6963 of the cry^H7775 of the daughter^H1323 of my people^H5971 from a land^H776 that is very far^H4801 off: Is not Jehovah^H3068 in Zion?^H6726 is not her King^H4428 in her? Why have they provoked me to anger^H3707 with their graven images,^H6456 and with foreign^H5236 vanities?^H1892

Therefore now thus saith^H559 Jehovah,^H3068 the God^H430 of hosts,^H6635 the God^H430 of Israel:^H3478 Wherefore commit^H6213 ye [this] great^H1419 evil^H7451 against your own souls,^H5315 to cut off^H3772 from you man^H376 and woman,^H802 infant^H5768 and suckling,^H3243 out^H8432 of the midst of Judah,^H3063 to leave^H3498 you none remaining;^H7611

For these things I weep;^H1058 mine eye,^H5869 mine eye^H5869 runneth down^H3381 with water;^H4325 Because the comforter^H5162 that should refresh^H7725 my soul^H5315 is far^H7368 from me: My children^H1121 are desolate,^H8074 because the enemy^H341 hath prevailed.^H1396

Arise,^H6965 cry out^H7442 in the night,^H3915 at the beginning^H7218 of the watches;^H821 Pour out^H8210 thy heart^H3820 like water^H4325 before^H5227 the face^H6440 of the Lord:^H136 Lift up^H5375 thy hands^H3709 toward him for the life^H5315 of thy young children,^H5768 that faint^H5848 for hunger^H7458 at the head^H7218 of every street.^H2351

Even the jackals^H8577 draw out^H2502 the breast,^H7699 they give suck^H3243 to their young ones:^H1482 The daughter^H1323 of my people^H5971 is become cruel,^H393 like the ostriches^H3283 in the wilderness.^H4057

They that are slain^H2491 with the sword^H2719 are better^H2896 than they that are slain^H2491 with hunger;^H7458 For these^H1992 pine away,^H2100 stricken^H1856 through, for want of the fruits^H8570 of the field.^H7704
