And David^H1732 said^H559 unto Gad,^H1410 I am in a great^H3966 strait:^H6887 let us fall^H5307 now into the hand^H3027 of Jehovah;^H3068 for his mercies^H7356 are great;^H7227 and let me not fall^H5307 into the hand^H3027 of man.^H120

And after^H310 all that is come^H935 upon us for our evil^H7451 deeds,^H4639 and for our great^H1419 guilt,^H819 seeing that you our God^H430 have punished^H2820 us less^H4295 than our iniquities^H5771 deserve, and have given^H5414 us such a remnant,^H6413

And hide^H5641 not thy face^H6440 from thy servant;^H5650 For I am in distress;^H6887 answer^H6030 me speedily.^H4118

But he, being merciful,^H7349 forgave^H3722 [their] iniquity,^H5771 and destroyed^H7843 [them] not: Yea, many a time^H7235 turned^H7725 he his anger^H639 away,^H7725 And did not stir up^H5782 all his wrath.^H2534

And he remembered^H2142 for them his covenant,^H1285 And repented^H5162 according to the multitude^H7230 of his lovingkindnesses.^H2617

But they rebelled^H4784 against me, and would^H14 not hearken^H8085 unto me; they did not every man^H376 cast away^H7993 the abominations^H8251 of their eyes,^H5869 neither did they forsake^H5800 the idols^H1544 of Egypt.^H4714 Then I said^H559 I would pour out^H8210 my wrath^H2534 upon them, to accomplish^H3615 my anger^H639 against them in the midst^H8432 of the land^H776 of Egypt.^H4714

But the children^H1121 rebelled^H4784 against me; they walked^H1980 not in my statutes,^H2708 neither kept^H8104 mine ordinances^H4941 to do^H6213 them, which if a man^H120 do,^H6213 he shall live^H2425 in them; they profaned^H2490 my sabbaths.^H7676 Then I said^H559 I would pour out^H8210 my wrath^H2534 upon them, to accomplish^H3615 my anger^H639 against them in the wilderness.^H4057

Who is a God^H410 like unto thee, that pardoneth^H5375 iniquity,^H5771 and passeth over^H5674 the transgression^H6588 of the remnant^H7611 of his heritage?^H5159 he retaineth^H2388 not his anger^H639 for ever,^H5703 because he delighteth^H2654 in lovingkindness.^H2617

For I, Jehovah,^H3068 change^H8138 not; therefore ye, O sons^H1121 of Jacob,^H3290 are not consumed.^H3615
