And they returned^H7725 from spying^H8446 out the land^H776 at the end^H7093 of forty^H705 days.^H3117

And Jehovah's^H3068 anger^H639 was kindled^H2734 against Israel,^H3478 and he made them wander^H5128 to and fro in the wilderness^H4057 forty^H705 years,^H8141 until all the generation,^H1755 that had done^H6213 evil^H7451 in the sight^H5869 of Jehovah,^H3068 was consumed.^H8552

And now, behold, Jehovah^H3068 hath kept me alive,^H2421 as he spake,^H1696 these forty^H705 and five^H2568 years,^H8141 from the time^H227 that Jehovah^H3068 spake^H1696 this word^H1697 unto Moses,^H4872 while Israel^H3478 walked^H1980 in the wilderness:^H4057 and now, lo, I am this day^H3117 fourscore^H8084 and five^H2568 years^H8141 old.^H1121

Blessed^H1288 be Jehovah,^H3068 that hath given^H5414 rest^H4496 unto his people^H5971 Israel,^H3478 according to all that he promised:^H1696 there hath not failed^H5307 one^H259 word^H1697 of all his good^H2896 promise,^H1697 which he promised^H1697 by^H3027 Moses^H4872 his servant.^H5650

For mine iniquities^H5771 are gone over^H5674 my head:^H7218 As a heavy^H3515 burden^H4853 they are too heavy^H3513 for me.

Forty^H705 years^H8141 long was I grieved^H6962 with [that] generation,^H1755 And said,^H559 It is a people^H5971 that do err^H8582 in their heart,^H3824 And they have not known^H3045 my ways:^H1870

And at what instant^H7281 I shall speak^H1696 concerning a nation,^H1471 and concerning a kingdom,^H4467 to build^H1129 and to plant^H5193 it;

And again,^H8145 when thou hast accomplished^H3615 these,^H428 thou shalt lie^H7901 on thy right^H3233 side,^H6654 and shalt bear^H5375 the iniquity^H5771 of the house^H1004 of Judah:^H3063 forty^H705 days,^H3117 each day^H3117 for a year,^H8141 have I appointed^H5414 it unto thee.

Therefore thus saith^H559 the Lord^H136 Jehovah: Because thou hast forgotten^H7911 me, and cast^H7993 me behind^H310 thy back,^H1458 therefore bear^H5375 thou also thy lewdness^H2154 and thy whoredoms.^H8457

Though they bring up^H1431 their children,^H1121 yet will I bereave^H7921 them, so that not a man^H120 shall be left: yea, woe^H188 also to them when I depart^H5493 from them!

Let us^G5399 fear^G5399 therefore,^G3767 lest^G3379 haply, a promise^G1860 being left^G2641 of entering^G1525 into^G1519 his^G846 rest,^G2663 any^G5100 one of^G1537 you^G5216 should seem^G1380 to have come short of it.^G5302
