And Tarah toke Abram his sonne, and Lot the sonne of Haran his sonnes sonne, and Sarai his daughter in lawe his sonne Abrams wyfe, and they departed together from Ur of the Chaldees, that they myght go into the land of Chanaan: and they came vnto Haran, and dwelt there.
Abram dwelled in the lande of Chanaan, and Lot abode in the cities of the playne, and pitched his tent vntill Sodome.
And though he slay sodaynly with the scourge, yet will he laugh at the punishment of the innocent.
For they that wyll be riche, fall into temptations and snares, and into many folishe & noysome lustes, which drowne men in perdition and destruction.
And I hearde another voyce from heauen say: Come awaye from her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sinnes, and that ye receaue not of her plagues.
