After Ehud came Shamgar son of Anath. He killed six hundred Philistines with an oxgoad. So he also delivered Israel.

In those days no one could travel safely, for total chaos had overtaken all the people of the surrounding lands.

Highways are empty, there are no travelers. Treaties are broken, witnesses are despised, human life is treated with disrespect.

צ(Tsade) Our enemies hunted us down at every step so that we could not walk about in our streets. Our end drew near, our days were numbered, for our end had come!
