At the fords of the Arnon the Moabite women are like a bird that flies about when forced from its nest.

Pick up millstones and grind flour! Remove your veil, strip off your skirt, expose your legs, cross the streams!

They will hear,‘Run! Save yourselves! Even if you must be like a lonely shrub in the wilderness!’

therefore, take note: I am about to gather all your lovers whom you enjoyed, both all those you loved and all those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around, and I will expose your nakedness to them, and they will see all your nakedness.

For this reason I will mourn and wail; I will walk around barefoot and without my outer garments. I will howl like a wild dog, and screech like an owl.

Then you will escape through my mountain valley, for the valley of the mountains will extend to Azal. Indeed, you will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come with all his holy ones with him.
