And Moses^H4872 said^H559 unto his father-in-law,^H2859 Because the people^H5971 come^H935 unto me to inquire^H1875 of God:^H430

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken^H8085 unto the voice^H6963 of Jehovah^H3068 thy God,^H430 to observe^H8104 to do^H6213 all his commandments^H4687 and his statutes^H2708 which I command^H6680 thee this day,^H3117 that all these curses^H7045 shall come^H935 upon thee, and overtake^H5381 thee.

But if thy heart^H3824 turn away,^H6437 and thou wilt not hear,^H8085 but shalt be drawn away,^H5080 and worship^H7812 other^H312 gods,^H430 and serve^H5647 them;

But Jeshurun^H3484 waxed fat,^H8080 and kicked:^H1163 Thou art waxed fat,^H8080 thou art grown thick,^H5666 thou art become sleek;^H3780 Then he forsook^H5203 God^H433 who made^H6213 him, And lightly esteemed^H5034 the Rock^H6697 of his salvation.^H3444

And Jehoshaphat^H3092 said^H559 unto the king^H4428 of Israel,^H3478 Inquire^H1875 first,^H3117 I pray thee, for the word^H1697 of Jehovah.^H3068

Go^H3212 ye, inquire^H1875 of Jehovah^H3068 for me, and for the people,^H5971 and for all Judah,^H3063 concerning the words^H1697 of this book^H5612 that is found;^H4672 for great^H1419 is the wrath^H2534 of Jehovah^H3068 that is kindled^H3341 against us, because our fathers^H1 have not hearkened^H8085 unto the words^H1697 of this book,^H5612 to do^H6213 according unto all that which is written^H3789 concerning us.

Wherefore the wrath^H7110 of Jehovah^H3068 was upon Judah^H3063 and Jerusalem,^H3389 and he hath delivered^H5414 them to be tossed^H2189 to and fro, to be an astonishment,^H8047 and a hissing,^H8322 as ye see^H7200 with your eyes.^H5869

And he sent^H7971 Eliakim,^H471 who was over the household,^H1004 and Shebna^H7644 the scribe,^H5608 and the elders^H2205 of the priests,^H3548 covered^H3680 with sackcloth,^H8242 unto Isaiah^H3470 the prophet^H5030 the son^H1121 of Amoz.^H531

Inquire,^H1875 I pray thee, of Jehovah^H3068 for us;^H1157 for Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 king^H4428 of Babylon^H894 maketh war^H3898 against us: peradventure Jehovah^H3068 will deal^H6213 with us according to all his wondrous works,^H6381 that he may go up^H5927 from us.

Then came^H935 certain^H582 of the elders^H2205 of Israel^H3478 unto me, and sat^H3427 before^H6440 me.

For^G1063 the wrath^G3709 of God^G2316 is revealed^G601 from^G575 heaven^G3772 against^G1909 all^G3956 ungodliness^G763 and^G2532 unrighteousness^G93 of men,^G444 who^G3588 hinder^G2722 the truth^G225 in^G1722 unrighteousness;^G93

for^G1063 the law^G3551 worketh^G2716 wrath;^G3709 but^G1063 where^G3757 there is^G2076 no^G3756 law,^G3551 neither^G3761 is there transgression.^G3847
