And it came to pass in the morning,^H1242 when the wine^H3196 was gone out^H3318 of Nabal,^H5037 that his wife^H802 told^H5046 him these things,^H1697 and his heart^H3820 died^H4191 within^H7130 him, and he became as a stone.^H68

And Absalom^H53 and all the men^H376 of Israel^H3478 said,^H559 The counsel^H6098 of Hushai^H2365 the Archite^H757 is better^H2896 than the counsel^H6098 of Ahithophel.^H302 For Jehovah^H3068 had ordained^H6680 to defeat^H6565 the good^H2896 counsel^H6098 of Ahithophel,^H302 to the intent^H5668 that Jehovah^H3068 might bring^H935 evil^H7451 upon Absalom.^H53

And Ahaziah^H274 fell down^H5307 through the lattice^H7639 in his upper chamber^H5944 that was in Samaria,^H8111 and was sick:^H2470 and he sent^H7971 messengers,^H4397 and said^H559 unto them, Go,^H3212 inquire^H1875 of Baal-zebub,^H1176 the god^H430 of Ekron,^H6138 whether I shall recover^H2421 of this sickness.^H2483

He taketh^H3920 the wise^H2450 in their own craftiness;^H6193 And the counsel^H6098 of the cunning^H6617 is carried headlong.^H4116

They reel to and fro,^H2287 and stagger^H5128 like a drunken man,^H7910 And are at their wits'^H2451 end.^H1104

And when they shall say^H559 unto you, Seek^H1875 unto them that have familiar spirits^H178 and unto the wizards,^H3049 that chirp^H6850 and that mutter:^H1897 should not a people^H5971 seek^H1875 unto their God?^H430 on behalf of the living^H2416 [should they seek] unto the dead?^H4191

The princes^H8269 of Zoan^H6814 are utterly foolish;^H191 the counsel^H6098 of the wisest^H2450 counsellors^H3289 of Pharaoh^H6547 is become brutish:^H1197 how say^H559 ye unto Pharaoh,^H6547 I am the son^H1121 of the wise,^H2450 the son^H1121 of ancient^H6924 kings?^H4428

Stand^H5975 now with thine enchantments,^H2267 and with the multitude^H7230 of thy sorceries,^H3785 wherein^H834 thou hast labored^H3021 from thy youth;^H5271 if so be thou shalt be able^H3201 to profit,^H3276 if so be thou mayest prevail.^H6206

Why are thy strong^H47 ones swept away?^H5502 they stood^H5975 not, because Jehovah^H3068 did drive^H1920 them.

Can thy heart^H3820 endure,^H5975 or can thy hands^H3027 be strong,^H2388 in the days^H3117 that I shall deal^H6213 with thee? I, Jehovah,^H3068 have spoken^H1696 it, and will do^H6213 it.

Therefore^H4481 made^H7761 I^H4481 a decree^H2942 to bring^H5954 in all^H3606 the wise^H2445 men of Babylon^H895 before^H6925 me, that they might make known^H3046 unto me the interpretation^H6591 of the dream.^H2493

For^G1063 the wisdom^G4678 of this^G5127 world^G2889 is^G2076 foolishness^G3472 with^G3844 God.^G2316 For^G1063 it is written,^G1125 He that taketh^G1405 the wise^G4680 in^G1722 their craftiness:^G3834
