And Jehovah^H3068 said^H559 unto Moses,^H4872 Stretch out^H5186 thy hand^H3027 toward heaven,^H8064 that there may be darkness^H2822 over the land^H776 of Egypt,^H4714 even darkness^H2822 which may be felt.^H4959

And in those times^H6256 there was no peace^H7965 to him that went out,^H3318 nor to him that came in;^H935 but great^H7227 vexations^H4103 were upon all the inhabitants^H3427 of the lands.^H776

The wicked^H7563 is thrust down^H1760 in his evil-doing;^H7451 But the righteous^H6662 hath a refuge^H2620 in his death.^H4194

To the law^H8451 and to the testimony!^H8584 if they speak^H559 not according to this word,^H1697 surely there is no morning^H7837 for them.

I clothe^H3847 the heavens^H8064 with blackness,^H6940 and I make^H7760 sackcloth^H8242 their covering.^H3682

Give^H5414 glory^H3519 to Jehovah^H3068 your God,^H430 before he cause darkness,^H2821 and before your feet^H7272 stumble^H5062 upon the dark^H5399 mountains,^H2022 and, while ye look^H6960 for light,^H216 he turn^H7760 it into the shadow of death,^H6757 and make^H7896 it gross darkness.^H6205

Ask^H7592 ye now, and see^H7200 whether a man^H2145 doth travail with child:^H3205 wherefore do I see^H7200 every man^H1397 with his hands^H3027 on his loins,^H2504 as a woman in travail,^H3205 and all faces^H6440 are turned^H2015 into paleness?^H3420

The great^H1419 day^H3117 of Jehovah^H3068 is near,^H7138 it is near^H7138 and hasteth^H4118 greatly,^H3966 [even] the voice^H6963 of the day^H3117 of Jehovah;^H3068 the mighty man^H1368 crieth^H6873 there bitterly.^H4751
