And Joshua^H3091 rent^H7167 his clothes,^H8071 and fell^H5307 to the earth^H776 upon his face^H6440 before^H6440 the ark^H727 of Jehovah^H3068 until the evening,^H6153 he and the elders^H2205 of Israel;^H3478 and they put^H5927 dust^H6083 upon their heads.^H7218

And when they lifted up^H5375 their eyes^H5869 afar off,^H7350 and knew^H5234 him not, they lifted up^H5375 their voice,^H6963 and wept;^H1058 and they rent^H7167 every one^H376 his robe,^H4598 and sprinkled^H2236 dust^H6083 upon their heads^H7218 toward heaven.^H8064

And her gates^H6607 shall lament^H578 and mourn;^H56 and she shall be desolate^H5352 and sit^H3427 upon the ground.^H776

Sit^H3427 thou silent,^H1748 and get^H935 thee into darkness,^H2822 O daughter^H1323 of the Chaldeans;^H3778 for thou shalt no more^H3254 be called^H7121 The mistress^H1404 of kingdoms.^H4467

How doth the city^H5892 sit^H3427 solitary,^H910 that was full^H7227 of people!^H5971 She is become as a widow,^H490 that was great^H7227 among the nations!^H1471 She that was a princess^H8282 among the provinces^H4082 is become tributary!^H4522

Let him sit^H3427 alone^H910 and keep silence,^H1826 because he hath laid^H5190 it upon him.

The anger^H6440 of Jehovah^H3068 hath scattered^H2505 them; He will no more^H3254 regard^H5027 them: They respected^H5375 not the persons^H6440 of the priests,^H3548 they favored^H2603 not the elders.^H2205

The elders^H2205 have ceased^H7673 from the gate,^H8179 The young men^H970 from their music.^H5058

and they shall make^H7144 themselves bald^H7139 for thee, and gird^H2296 them with sackcloth,^H8242 and they shall weep^H1058 for thee in bitterness^H4751 of soul^H5315 with bitter^H4751 mourning.^H4553

Therefore he that is prudent^H7919 shall keep silence^H1826 in such a time;^H6256 for it is an evil^H7451 time.^H6256

In that day^H3117 shall the fair^H3303 virgins^H1330 and the young men^H970 faint^H5968 for thirst.^H6772
