An ydle hande maketh poore, but a quycke laboringe hande maketh riche.

The slogarde wolde fayne haue, and can not get his desyre: but the soule of the diligent shal haue plenty.

Slouthfulnes bryngeth slepe, & an ydell soule shal suffer hoger.

The slouthfull body sayeth: there is a lyo wt out, I might be slayne in ye strete.

I wente by ye felde of ye slouthfull, & by ye vynyarde of the foolish ma.

Like as the dore turneth aboute vpon the tresholde, euen so doth the slouthfull welter himself in his bedd.
