The wordes of his mouth were softer then butter, yet warre was in his heart: his words were more gentle then oyle, yet they were swordes.

Their poyson is euen like the poyson of a serpent: like ye deafe adder that stoppeth his eare.

Which haue whette their tongue like a sword, and shot for their arrowes bitter wordes.

If the serpent bite, when he is not charmed: no better is a babbler.

And the tongue is fire, yea, a worlde of wickednesse: so is the tongue set among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature, and it is set on fire of hell.
