Be not ye now stiffenecked like your fathers, but giue the hand to the Lorde, and come into his sanctuarie, which he hath sanctified for euer, and serue the Lorde your God, & the fiercenesse of his wrath shall turne away from you.
And sayd, Naked came I out of my mothers wombe, and naked shall I returne thither: the Lord hath giuen, and the Lord hath taken it: blessed be the Name of the Lord.
Then Iob answered the Lord, and sayd,
Say vnto God, Howe terrible art thou in thy workes! through the greatnesse of thy power shall thine enemies be in subiection vnto thee.
Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glorye shall come downe from your heads.
(4:29) And they shall driue thee from men, and thy dwelling shalbe with the beastes of the fielde: they shall make thee to eate grasse, as the oxen, and seuen times shall passe ouer thee, vntill thou knowest, that the most High beareth rule ouer the kingdome of men, and giueth it vnto whomsoeuer he will.
Then came to him the tempter, and said, If thou be the Sonne of God, commande that these stones be made bread.
And was there fourtie dayes tempted of the deuil, & in those dayes he did eate nothing: but when they were ended, he afterward was hungry.
Then he called for a light, and leaped in, and came trembling, and fell downe before Paul and Silas,
For they, being ignorant of the righteousnes of God, and going about to stablish their owne righteousnes, haue not submitted themselues to the righteousnes of God.
Neither giue place to the deuill.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the assaultes of the deuil.
Therefore submit your selues vnto all maner ordinance of man for the Lordes sake, whether it be vnto the King, as vnto the superiour,
Be sober, and watch: for your aduersarie the deuil as a roaring lyon walketh about, seeking whom he may deuoure:
