And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men.

And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee.

¶ And the king sent, and they gathered unto him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.

¶ Joash [was] seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also [was] Zibiah of Beersheba.

¶ Manasseh [was] twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:

¶ Better [is] a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.

¶ The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
