Back to passage

¶ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

‹The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.›

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, ‹Why tempt ye me,› [ye] ‹hypocrites?›

‹Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over› [them] ‹are not aware› [of them].

The Lord then answered him, and said, [Thou] ‹hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or› [his] ‹ass from the stall, and lead› [him] ‹away to watering?›
