Now the LORD energized Elijah with power; he tucked his robe into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

Get ready for a difficult task like a man; I will question you and you will inform me!

Justice will be like a belt around his waist, integrity will be like a belt around his hips.

He said to them,‘You go into the vineyard too, and I will give you whatever is right.’

Won’t the master instead say to him,‘Get my dinner ready, and make yourself ready to serve me while I eat and drink. Then you may eat and drink’?

Be Ready!“But be on your guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap.

For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

So then we must not sleep as the rest, but must stay alert and sober.

You, however, be self-controlled in all things, endure hardship, do an evangelist’s work, fulfill your ministry.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,

So do not throw away your confidence, because it has great reward.

But set Christ apart as Lord in your hearts and always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope you possess.

Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.
