So David asked the LORD,“Should I go and strike down these Philistines?” The LORD said to David,“Go, strike down the Philistines and deliver Keilah.”

So Saul inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him– not by dreams nor by Urim nor by the prophets.

David inquired of the LORD, saying,“Should I pursue this raiding band? Will I overtake them?” He said to him,“Pursue, for you will certainly overtake them and carry out a rescue!”

So David asked the LORD what he should do. This time the LORD said to him,“Don’t march straight up. Instead, circle around behind them and come against them opposite the trees.

When he came before the king, the king asked him,“Micaiah, should we attack Ramoth Gilead or not?” He answered him,“Attack! You will succeed; the LORD will hand it over to the king.”

You ought to say instead,“If the Lord is willing, then we will live and do this or that.”
