that I will take nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal. That way you can never say,‘It is I who made Abram rich.’

He said,“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will return there. The LORD gives, and the LORD takes away. May the name of the LORD be blessed!”

By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of his anger they are consumed.

“Without a doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

know then that God has wronged me and encircled me with his net.

Beware, those who think they are wise, those who think they possess understanding.

Now they come into being, not in the past; before today you did not hear about them, so you could not say,‘Yes, I know about them.’

Look, you are wiser than Daniel; no secret is hidden from you.

Jesus replied,“You would have no authority over me at all, unless it was given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of greater sin.”

But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.
