The Departure of the Apostle Aristos
On this day, the repose of Saint Aristos the Apostle. This saint was one of the Seventy Apostles and received the grace of the Comforter Spirit with the apostles on Mount Zion. He spoke with them in tongues, served, preached, and suffered with them many times. Then they laid hands on him and ordained him bishop over Jerusalem. He taught there and elsewhere, and God performed many signs through him, including turning salty water into fresh. He struggled alongside the Apostle Paul in his many journeys, serving him. He is mentioned in Acts chapter 19. After reaching old age, he departed in peace. May his prayer be with us. Amen.
The Departure of Saint Acacius, Bishop of Jerusalem, and Those with Him
On this day, the repose of Saint Acacius, Bishop of Jerusalem. He was raised piously, endured long persecution, and God performed signs and wonders through him. Then he departed in peace. His prayer is with us, and to our Lord be glory forever. Amen.
