For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Every scripture inspired of God [is] also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness.
