and it came to pass, when God^H430 caused me to wander^H8582 from my father's^H1 house,^H1004 that I said^H559 unto her, This is thy kindness^H2617 which thou shalt show^H6213 unto me: at every place^H4725 whither we shall come,^H935 say^H559 of me, He is my brother.^H251

And he called^H7121 the name^H8034 of the place^H4725 Massah,^H4532 and Meribah,^H4809 because of the striving^H7379 of the children^H1121 of Israel,^H3478 and because they tempted^H5254 Jehovah,^H3068 saying,^H559 Is^H3426 Jehovah^H3068 among^H7130 us, or not?

If your brother,^H251 the son^H1121 of your mother,^H517 or your son,^H1121 or your daughter,^H1323 or the wife^H802 of your bosom,^H2436 or your friend,^H7453 that is as your own soul,^H5315 entice^H5496 you secretly,^H5643 saying,^H559 Let us go^H3212 and serve^H5647 other^H312 gods,^H430 which you have not known,^H3045 you, nor your fathers;^H1

When thou sawest^H7200 a thief,^H1590 thou consentedst^H7521 with him, And hast been partaker^H2506 with adulterers.^H5003

How^H4100 oft did they rebel^H4784 against him in the wilderness,^H4057 And grieve^H6087 him in the desert!^H3452

Harden^H7185 not your heart,^H3824 as at Meribah,^H4808 As in the day^H3117 of Massah^H4531 in the wilderness;^H4057

Every one that is proud^H1362 in heart^H3820 is an abomination^H8441 to Jehovah:^H3068 [Though] hand^H3027 [join] in hand,^H3027 he shall not be unpunished.^H5352

Jesus^G2424 said^G5346 unto him,^G846 Again^G3825 it is written,^G1125 Thou shalt^G1598 not^G3756 make trial^G1598 of the Lord^G2962 thy^G4675 God.^G2316

Now^G3568 therefore^G3767 why^G5101 make ye^G3985 trial of God,^G2316 that ye should put^G2007 a yoke^G2218 upon^G1909 the neck^G5137 of the disciples^G3101 which^G3739 neither^G3777 our^G2257 fathers^G3962 nor^G3777 we^G2249 were able^G2480 to bear?^G941

Now^G1161 we know^G1492 that^G3754 what things soever^G3745 the law^G3551 saith,^G3004 it speaketh^G2980 to them that are^G3588 under^G1722 the law;^G3551 that^G2443 every^G3956 mouth^G4750 may be stopped,^G5420 and^G2532 all^G3956 the world^G2889 may be brought^G1096 under the judgment^G5267 of God:^G2316

Neither^G3366 let us make trial^G1598 of the Lord,^G5547 as^G2531 some^G5100 of^G5259 them^{G846 G2532} made trial,^G3985 and^G2532 perished^G622 by the serpents.^G3789
