and when thou comest nigh^H7126 over against^H4136 the children^H1121 of Ammon,^H5983 vex^H6696 them not, nor contend^H1624 with them; for I will not give^H5414 thee of the land^H776 of the children^H1121 of Ammon^H5983 for a possession;^H3425 because I have given^H5414 it unto the children^H1121 of Lot^H3876 for a possession.^H3425

And the anger^H639 of Jehovah^H3068 was kindled^H2734 against Israel,^H3478 and he sold^H4376 them into the hand^H3027 of the Philistines,^H6430 and into the hand^H3027 of the children^H1121 of Ammon.^H5983

Then Nahash^H5176 the Ammonite^H5984 came up,^H5927 and encamped^H2583 against Jabesh-gilead:^H3003 and all the men^H582 of Jabesh^H3003 said^H559 unto Nahash,^H5176 Make^H3772 a covenant^H1285 with us, and we will serve^H5647 thee.

And he brought forth^H3318 the people^H5971 that were therein, and put^H7760 them under saws,^H4050 and under harrows^H2757 of iron,^H1270 and under axes^H4037 of iron,^H1270 and made them pass^H5674 through the brickkiln:^H4404 and thus did^H6213 he unto all the cities^H5892 of the children^H1121 of Ammon.^H5983 And David^H1732 and all the people^H5971 returned^H7725 unto Jerusalem.^H3389

Gebal,^H1381 and Ammon,^H5983 and Amalek;^H6002 Philistia^H6429 with the inhabitants^H3427 of Tyre:^H6865

Of the children of Ammon.^H1121 Thus saith^H559 Jehovah:^H3068 Hath Israel^H3478 no sons?^H1121 hath he no heir?^H3423 why then doth Malcam^H4428 possess^H3423 Gad,^H1410 and his people^H5971 dwell^H3427 in the cities^H5892 thereof?

And the word^H1697 of Jehovah^H3068 came unto me, saying,^H559

Because thou hast said,^H559 These two^H8147 nations^H1471 and these two^H8147 countries^H776 shall be mine, and we will possess^H3423 it; whereas Jehovah^H3068 was there:

O Israel,^H3478 return^H7725 unto Jehovah^H3068 thy God;^H430 for thou hast fallen^H3782 by thine iniquity.^H5771

Yea, moreover, wine^H3196 is treacherous,^H898 a haughty^H3093 man,^H1397 that keepeth not at home;^H5115 who enlargeth^H7337 his desire^H5315 as Sheol,^H7585 and he is as death,^H4194 and cannot be satisfied,^H7646 but gathereth^H622 unto him all nations,^H1471 and heapeth^H6908 unto him all peoples.^H5971
