I also walked^H3212 contrary^H7147 unto them, and brought^H935 them into the land^H776 of their enemies:^H341 if then^H176 their uncircumcised^H6189 heart^H3824 be humbled,^H3665 and they then accept^H7521 of the punishment of their iniquity;^H5771

if my people,^H5971 who are called^H7121 by my name,^H8034 shall humble^H3665 themselves, and pray,^H6419 and seek^H1245 my face,^H6440 and turn^H7725 from their wicked^H7451 ways;^H1870 then will I hear^H8085 from heaven,^H8064 and will forgive^H5545 their sin,^H2403 and will heal^H7495 their land.^H776

His prayer^H8605 also, and how [God] was entreated^H6279 of him, and all his sin^H2403 and his trespass,^H4604 and the places^H4725 wherein he built^H1129 high places,^H1116 and set up^H5975 the Asherim^H842 and the graven images,^H6456 before^H6440 he humbled^H3665 himself: behold, they are written^H3789 in the history^H1697 of Hozai.^H2374

because thy heart^H3824 was tender,^H7401 and thou didst humble^H3665 thyself before^H6440 God,^H430 when thou heardest^H8085 his words^H1697 against this place,^H4725 and against the inhabitants^H3427 thereof, and hast humbled^H3665 thyself before^H6440 me, and hast rent^H7167 thy clothes,^H899 and wept^H1058 before^H6440 me; I also have heard^H8085 thee, saith^H5002 Jehovah.^H3068

Blessed^H835 is the man^H376 that walketh^H1980 not in the counsel^H6098 of the wicked,^H7563 Nor standeth^H5975 in the way^H1870 of sinners,^H2400 Nor sitteth^H3427 in the seat^H4186 of scoffers:^H3887

O Jehovah^H3068 of hosts,^H6635 Blessed^H835 is the man^H120 that trusteth^H982 in thee.

ALEPH. Blessed^H835 are they that are perfect^H8549 in the way,^H1870 Who walk^H1980 in the law^H8451 of Jehovah.^H3068

Happy^H835 is he that hath the God^H410 of Jacob^H3290 for his help,^H5828 Whose hope^H7664 is in Jehovah^H3068 his God:^H430

Better^H2896 it is to be of a lowly^H6035 spirit^H7307 with the poor,^H8217 Than to divide^H2505 the spoil^H7998 with the proud.^H1343

And therefore will Jehovah^H3068 wait,^H2442 that he may be gracious^H2603 unto you; and therefore will he be exalted,^H7311 that he may have mercy^H7355 upon you: for Jehovah^H3068 is a God^H430 of justice;^H4941 blessed^H835 are all they that wait^H2442 for him.

The Spirit^H7307 of the Lord^H136 Jehovah^H3068 is upon me; because Jehovah^H3068 hath anointed^H4886 me to preach good tidings^H1319 unto the meek;^H6035 he hath sent^H7971 me to bind up^H2280 the broken-hearted,^H7665 to proclaim^H7121 liberty^H1865 to the captives,^H7617 and the opening [of the prison]^H6495 to them that are bound;^H631

I have surely^H8085 heard^H8085 Ephraim^H669 bemoaning^H5110 himself [thus], Thou hast chastised^H3256 me, and I was chastised,^H3256 as a calf^H5695 unaccustomed^H3808 [to the yoke]: turn^H7725 thou me, and I shall be turned;^H7725 for thou art Jehovah^H3068 my God.^H430

He hath showed^H5046 thee, O man,^H120 what is good;^H2896 and what doth Jehovah^H3068 require^H1875 of thee, but to do^H6213 justly,^H4941 and to love^H160 kindness,^H2617 and to walk^H3212 humbly^H6800 with thy God?^H430

Blessed^G3107 are the poor^G4434 in spirit:^G4151 for^G3754 theirs^G846 is^G2076 the kingdom^G932 of heaven.^G3772

And^G2532 blessed^G3107 is^G2076 he,^G3739 whosoever^G1437 shall^G4624 find no^G3361 occasion of stumbling^G4624 in^G1722 me.^G1698

But^G1161 blessed^G3107 are your^G5216 eyes,^G3788 for^G3754 they see;^G991 and^G2532 your^G5216 ears,^G3775 for^G3754 they hear.^G191

Blessed^G3107 is that^G1565 servant,^G1401 whom^G3739 his^G846 lord^G2962 when he cometh^G2064 shall find^G2147 so^G3779 doing.^G4160

But^G1161 when^G1492 Jesus^G2424 saw^G1492 it, he was moved with indignation,^G23 and^G2532 said^G2036 unto them,^G846 Suffer^G863 the little children^G3813 to^G4314 come^G2064 unto^G4314 me;^G3165 forbid^G2967 them^G846 not:^G3361 for^G1063 to such^G5108 belongeth^G2076 the kingdom^G932 of God.^G2316

And^G2532 he^G846 lifted up^G1869 his^G846 eyes^G3788 on^G1519 his^G846 disciples,^G3101 and said,^G3004 Blessed^G3107 [are] ye poor:^G4434 for^G3754 yours^G5212 is^G2076 the kingdom^G932 of God.^G2316

I say^G3004 unto you,^G5213 This man^G3778 went down^G2597 to^G1519 his^G846 house^G3624 justified^G1344 rather than^G2228 the other:^G1565 for^G3754 every one^G3956 that^G3588 exalteth^G5312 himself^G1438 shall be humbled;^G5013 but^G1161 he that^G3588 humbleth^G5013 himself^G1438 shall be exalted.^G5312

Even as^G2509 David^G1138 also^G2532 pronounceth^G3004 blessing^G3108 upon the man,^G444 unto whom^G3739 God^G2316 reckoneth^G3049 righteousness^G1343 apart^G5565 from works,^G2041

Blessed^G3107 is the man^G435 that^G3739 endureth^G5278 temptation;^G3986 for^G3754 when he hath been^G1096 approved,^G1384 he shall receive^G2983 the crown^G4735 of life,^G2222 which^G3739 [the Lord]^G2962 promised^G1861 to them^G3588 that love^G25 him.^G846

Be afflicted,^G5003 and^G2532 mourn,^G3996 and^G2532 weep:^G2799 let^G3344 your^G5216 laughter^G1071 be turned^G3344 to^G1519 mourning,^G3997 and^G2532 your joy^G5479 to^G1519 heaviness.^G2726

Blessed^G3107 are they^G3588 that wash^G4160 their^G846 robes,^G1785 that^G2443 they^G846 may have^G2071 the right^G1849 [to come] to^G1909 the tree^G3586 of life,^G2222 and^G2532 may enter in^G1525 by the gates^G4440 into^G1519 the city.^G4172
