Among all thynges, man hath the most deceiptfull and stubburne heart: Who shall then knowe it?
Beholde, I sende you foorth, as sheepe in the middest of woolfes. Be ye therfore wyse as serpentes, and harmelesse as doues.
And brought hym to Iesus. And Iesus behelde hym, and sayde: Thou art Simon the sonne of Iona, thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone.
Iesus sayth vnto her: Go, call thy husbande, and come hyther.
When Iesus therfore perceaued, that they would come and take him, to make hym kyng, he departed agayne into amountayne hym selfe alone.
Nowe are we sure that thou knowest all thynges, & nedest not, that any man shoulde aske thee any question: Therfore beleue we, that thou camest from God.
And they prayed, saying: Thou Lord which knowest the heartes of all men, shewe whether of these two thou haste chosen,
And I wyll kyll her chyldren with death, & all the Churches shall knowe, that I am he which searcheth the raynes and heartes: And I wyll geue vnto euery one of you, accordyng vnto his workes.
