At that feast, the deputie was wont to delyuer vnto the people a prysoner, whom they woulde desire.

Ye haue a custome, that I shoulde deliuer you one loose at ye Passouer: Wyll ye that I loose vnto you the kyng of the Iewes?

But ye denyed the holy and iust, and desired a murtherer to be geuen you,

And they gaue him audience vnto this worde, and then lift vp their voyces and sayde: away with suche a felowe from the earth, for it is no reason yt he shoulde lyue.
