Back to passage

My sonne, if thou wylt receaue my wordes, and lay vp my commaundementes within thee,

My sonne, forget not thou my lawe, but see that thine heart kepe my commaundementes:

My sonne geue eare and be wyse, and set straight thyne heart in the way of the Lorde.

Who so robbeth his father and mother, and sayth it is no sinne: the same is the companion of a destroyer.

The rodde and correction geueth wisdome: but a childe left to his owne will, bryngeth his mother to shame.

But assoone as this thy sonne was come, which hath deuoured thy goodes with harlottes, thou hast for his pleasure kylled that fat calfe.
