And Samuel saide to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandement of the Lorde thy God, which he commaunded thee: for the Lord had nowe stablished thy kingdome vpon Israel for euer.

Then Dauid sayde vnto Nathan, I haue sinned against the Lord; Nathan sayde vnto Dauid, The Lord also hath put away thy sinne, thou shalt not die.

Then Dauids heart smote him, after that he had numbred the people: and Dauid said vnto the Lorde, I haue sinned exceedingly in that I haue done: therefore nowe, Lorde, I beseech thee, take away the trespasse of thy seruant: for I haue done very foolishly.

For thy Names sake, O Lord, be merciful vnto mine iniquitie, for it is great.

To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid, when the Prophet Nathan came vnto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. Haue mercie vpon me, O God, according to thy louing kindnes: according to the multitude of thy compassions put away mine iniquities.

(14:3) Take vnto you words, & turne to the Lord, and say vnto him, Take away all iniquitie, and receiue vs graciously: so wil we render the calues of our lippes.
