Moreouer, the Lord sayd vnto Moses, Goe to the people, and sanctifie them to day and to morow, and let them wash their clothes.
And certaine men were defiled by a dead man, that they might not keepe the Passeouer the same day: and they came before Moses & before Aaron the same day.
Because there were many in the Congregation that were not sanctified, therefore the Leuites had the charge of the killing of ye Passeouer for all that were not cleane, to sanctifie it to the Lord.
And all the people assembled themselues together, in the streete that was before the watergate, and they spake vnto Ezra the Scribe, that hee would bring the booke of ye Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.
I will wash mine handes in innocencie, O Lord, and compasse thine altar,
And two daies after followed the feast of the Passeouer, and of vnleauened bread: and the hie Priests, & Scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
For the Iewes Passeouer was at hande. Therefore Iesus went vp to Hierusalem.
Now the Passeouer, a feast of the Iewes, was neere.
Then Iesus, sixe dayes before the Passeouer, came to Bethania, where Lazarus was, who died, whom he had raised from the dead.
Then led they Iesus from Caiaphas into the common hall. Nowe it was morning, & they themselues went not into the common hall, least they should be defiled, but that they might eate the Passeouer.
Let euery man therefore examine himselfe, and so let him eate of this bread, and drinke of this cup.
Drawe neere to God, and he will drawe nere to you. Clense your handes, ye sinners, and purge your hearts, ye double minded.
