They abhorre me, & flee farre from mee, and spare not to spit in my face.

Then Pashur smote Ieremiah the Prophet, and put him in the stockes that were in the hie gate of Beniamin which was by the House of the Lorde.

Then spet they in his face, and buffeted him, and other smote him with roddes,

And the men that helde Iesus, mocked him, and strooke him.

And saide, Haile, King of the Iewes; they smote him with their roddes.
