To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. I Waited paciently for the Lorde, and he inclined vnto me, and heard my cry.
But he that endureth to the ende, he shalbe saued.
That is, to them which through patience in well doing, seeke glorie, and honour, and immortalitie, euerlasting life:
But if we hope for that we see not, we doe with patience abide for it.
Without ceasing, remembring your effectuall faith, and diligent loue, and the patience of your hope in our Lord Iesus Christ, in the sight of God euen our Father,
And we desire that euery one of you shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope vnto the ende,
For ye haue neede of patience, that after ye haue done the will of God, ye might receiue the promes.
Be patient therefore, brethren, vnto the comming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman wayteth for the precious fruite of the earth, and hath long patience for it, vntill he receiue the former, and the latter rayne.
I knowe thy workes, and thy labour, and thy patience, and howe thou canst not beare with them which are euill, and hast examined them which say they are Apostles, & are not, & hast found the liars.
If any leade into captiuitie, hee shall go into captiuitie: if any kill with a sword, he must be killed by a sword: here is the patience and the faith of the Saints.
