Then they said, Away hence, and they said, He is come alone as a stranger, and shall he iudge and rule? We will nowe deale worse with thee then with them. So they preassed sore vpon Lot himselfe, and came to breake the doore.

And the Spirit of God came vpon Zechariah the sonne of Iehoiada the Priest, which stoode aboue the people, and sayde vnto them, Thus sayth God, Why transgresse ye the commaundements of the Lorde? surely ye shall not prosper: because ye haue forsaken the Lorde, he also hath forsaken you.

And the Lorde spake to Manasseh and to his people, but they would not regarde.

Seeing thou hatest to bee reformed, and hast cast my wordes behinde thee?

The feare of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fooles despise wisedome and instruction.

But ye haue despised all my counsell, and would none of my correction.

They would none of my counsell, but despised all my correction.

He that regardeth instruction, is in the way of life: but he that refuseth correction, goeth out of the way.

Pouertie and shame is to him that refuseth instruction: but hee that regardeth correction, shalbe honoured.

Howbeit I sent vnto you all my seruats the Prophets rising earely, and sending them, saying, Oh doe not this abominable thing that I hate.

But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their eares, that they should not heare.
