Back to passage

A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

I have wandered off like a lost sheep. Come looking for your servant, for I do not forget your commands.

Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; he leads the ewes along.

So the LORD God of Israel has this to say about the leaders who are ruling over his people:“You have caused my people to be dispersed and driven into exile. You have not taken care of them. So I will punish you for the evil that you have done. I, the LORD, affirm it!

“‘For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Look, I myself will search for my sheep and seek them out.

“‘My servant David will be king over them; there will be one shepherd for all of them. They will follow my regulations and carefully observe my statutes.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Luke 15:4 TSK

Watch out for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.

Benediction and Conclusion Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus,
