TSK · 2 Timothy 1:3

“I am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated with strictness under Gamaliel according to the law of our ancestors, and was zealous for God just as all of you are today.

But I confess this to you, that I worship the God of our ancestors according to the Way(which they call a sect), believing everything that is according to the law and that is written in the prophets.

Now all the Jews know the way I lived from my youth, spending my life from the beginning among my own people and in Jerusalem.

Paul’s Desire to Visit Rome First of all, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.

Paul Defends His Changed Plans For our reason for confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity which are from God– not by human wisdom but by the grace of God– we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you.

I do not cease to give thanks for you when I remember you in my prayers.

We pray earnestly night and day to see you in person and make up what may be lacking in your faith.

To do this you must hold firmly to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck in regard to the faith.

and how from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
