The LORD’s Spirit will rest on him– a Spirit that gives extraordinary wisdom, a Spirit that provides the ability to execute plans, a Spirit that produces absolute loyalty to the LORD.

The Lord Will Rejuvenate His People The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,

Sending Out the Twelve Apostles Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits so they could cast them out and heal every kind of disease and sickness.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

The Feeding of the Five Thousand Then the apostles gathered around Jesus and told him everything they had done and taught.

When morning came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:

Washing the Disciples’ Feet Just before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that his time had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now loved them to the very end.

Therefore it says,“When he ascended on high he captured captives; he gave gifts to men.”

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,

who went into heaven and is at the right hand of God with angels and authorities and powers subject to him.

¶ The Prologue The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must happen very soon. He made it clear by sending his angel to his servant John,

The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will in no way be harmed by the second death.’

The wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
