fed you in the wilderness with manna(which your ancestors had never before known) so that he might by humbling you test you and eventually bring good to you.

The crucible is for refining silver and the furnace is for gold, likewise the LORD tests hearts.

So he approached the place where I was standing. As he came, I felt terrified and fell flat on the ground. Then he said to me,“Understand, son of man, that the vision pertains to the time of the end.”

He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of that week he will bring sacrifices and offerings to a halt. On the wing of abominations will come one who destroys, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys.”

At an appointed time he will again invade the south, but this latter visit will not turn out the way the former one did.

“At the time of the end the king of the south will attack him. Then the king of the north will storm against him with chariots, horsemen, and a large armada of ships. He will invade lands, passing through them like an overflowing river.

Many will be purified, made clean, and refined, but the wicked will go on being wicked. None of the wicked will understand, though the wise will understand.

Then I will bring the remaining third into the fire; I will refine them like silver is refined and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name and I will answer; I will say,‘These are my people,’ and they will say,‘The LORD is my God.’”

(3:19)“For indeed the day is coming, burning like a furnace, and all the arrogant evildoers will be chaff. The coming day will burn them up,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.“It will not leave them even a root or branch.

But this has happened so that the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

He takes away every branch that does not bear fruit in me. He prunes every branch that bears fruit so that it will bear more fruit.

Joy in Trials My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,

Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer. The devil is about to have some of you thrown into prison so you may be tested, and you will experience suffering for ten days. Remain faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown that is life itself.

Then another angel came out of the temple, shouting in a loud voice to the one seated on the cloud,“Use your sickle and start to reap, because the time to reap has come, since the earth’s harvest is ripe!”
