It’s like the old proverb says:‘From evil people evil proceeds.’ But my hand will not be against you.

So the king removed his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, who was hostile toward the Jews.

“Yes, the lamp of the wicked is extinguished; his flame of fire does not shine.

They are immune to the trouble common to men; they do not suffer as other men do.

If only you would kill the wicked, O God! Get away from me, you violent men!

The one who says to the guilty,“You are innocent,” peoples will curse him, and nations will denounce him.

My heart palpitates, I shake in fear; the twilight I desired has brought me terror.

But God will judge those outside. Remove the evil person from among you.
