Joseph’s Rise to Power At the end of two full years Pharaoh had a dream. As he was standing by the Nile,

opened it, and saw the child– a boy, crying!– and she felt compassion for him and said,“This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

He caused them to hate his people, and to mistreat his servants.

For they cannot sleep unless they cause harm; they are robbed of sleep until they make someone stumble.

This was the one who exploited our people and was cruel to our ancestors, forcing them to abandon their infants so they would die.
