The LORD said,“I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt. I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

and the people believed. When they heard that the LORD had attended to the Israelites and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed down close to the ground.

So we cried out to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, and he heard us and saw our humiliation, toil, and oppression.

Perhaps the LORD will notice my affliction and this day grant me good in place of his curse.”

Certainly the LORD guards the way of the godly, but the way of the wicked ends in destruction.

You do not deliver me over to the power of the enemy; you enable me to stand in a wide open place.

Then I will declare to them,‘I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!’
