so now he will startle many nations. Kings will be shocked by his exaltation, for they will witness something unannounced to them, and they will understand something they had not heard about.

“‘Then I passed by you and watched you, noticing that you had reached the age for love. I spread my cloak over you and covered your nakedness. I swore a solemn oath to you and entered into a marriage covenant with you, declares the Sovereign LORD, and you became mine.

“Do not fear, because I made a promise to your ancestors when they left Egypt, and my Spirit even now testifies to you.”

for this is my blood, the blood of the covenant, that is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

And in the same way he took the cup after they had eaten, saying,“This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of his grace

For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
