This day will become a memorial for you, and you will celebrate it as a festival to the LORD– you will celebrate it perpetually as a lasting ordinance.

It is to have two shoulder pieces attached to two of its corners, so it can be joined together.

They set the onyx stones in gold filigree settings, engraved as with the engravings of a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.

It was a memorial for the Israelites, that no outsider who is not a descendant of Aaron should approach to burn incense before the LORD, that he might not become like Korah and his company– just as the LORD had spoken by the authority of Moses.

tell them how the water of the Jordan stopped flowing before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the water of the Jordan stopped flowing. These stones will be a lasting memorial for the Israelites.”

Then you spoke through a vision to your faithful followers and said:“I have placed a young hero over a warrior; I have raised up a young man from the people.

Look, God is my deliverer! I will trust in him and not fear. For the LORD gives me strength and protects me; he has become my deliverer.”

Indeed, he will build the temple of the LORD, and he will be clothed in splendor, sitting as king on his throne. Moreover, there will be a priest with him on his throne and they will see eye to eye on everything.

He has done this to show mercy to our ancestors, and to remember his holy covenant–

So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
