I will bless those who bless you, but the one who treats you lightly I must curse, so that all the families of the earth may receive blessing through you.”

The LORD appeared to him that night and said,“I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham.”

So Esau said,“Let me leave some of my men with you.”“Why do that?” Jacob replied.“My lord has already been kind enough to me.”

The LORD was with Joseph. He was successful and lived in the household of his Egyptian master.

But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him kindness. He granted him favor in the sight of the prison warden.

“I will grant this people favor with the Egyptians, so that when you depart you will not leave empty-handed.

But if you are going to deal with me like this, then kill me immediately. If I have found favor in your sight then do not let me see my trouble.”

Then Saul sent word to Jesse saying,“Let David be my servant, for I really like him.”

Please, Lord, listen attentively to the prayer of your servant and to the prayer of your servants who take pleasure in showing respect to your name. Grant your servant success today and show compassion to me in the presence of this man.” Now I was cupbearer for the king.

He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts.

Their descendants will be known among the nations, their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will recognize that the LORD has blessed them.”

Then God made the overseer of the court officials sympathetic to Daniel.
