“Honor your father and your mother, that you may live a long time in the land the LORD your God is giving to you.

Pay everyone what is owed: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.

Instructions about Specific Groups Do not address an older man harshly but appeal to him as a father. Speak to younger men as brothers,

Do not accept an accusation against an elder unless it can be confirmed by two or three witnesses.

Above all keep your love for one another fervent, because love covers a multitude of sins.
