Would he contend with me with great power? No, he would only pay attention to me.

A psalm of David, written to get God’s attention. O LORD, do not continue to rebuke me in your anger! Do not continue to punish me in your raging fury!

Yet he is compassionate. He forgives sin and does not destroy. He often holds back his anger, and does not stir up his fury.
