For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with plague, and you would have been destroyed from the earth.

But David replied to the Philistine,“You are coming against me with sword and spear and javelin. But I am coming against you in the name of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel’s armies, whom you have defied!

May the LORD our God be constantly aware of these requests of mine I have presented to him, so that he might vindicate his servant and his people Israel as the need arises.

When it was time for the evening offering, Elijah the prophet approached the altar and prayed:“O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.

Angrily wipe them out! Wipe them out so they vanish! Let them know that God rules in Jacob and to the ends of the earth!(Selah)

May they be humiliated and continually terrified! May they die in shame!

I am the LORD, I have no peer, there is no God but me. I arm you for battle, even though you do not recognize me.

“I will display my majesty among the nations. All the nations will witness the judgment I have executed, and the power I have exhibited among them.
