Then Pharaoh commanded all his people,“All sons that are born you must throw into the river, but all daughters you may let live.”

and they said to them,“May the LORD look on you and judge, because you have made us stink in the opinion of Pharaoh and his servants, so that you have given them an excuse to kill us!”

But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he chased after the Israelites. Now the Israelites were going out defiantly.

Victory over the Amalekites Amalek came and attacked Israel in Rephidim.

So they traveled from the mountain of the LORD three days’ journey; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD was traveling before them during the three days’ journey, to find a resting place for them.

The LORD your God is about to go ahead of you; he will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt

All along the way I, the LORD your God, have blessed your every effort. I have been attentive to your travels through this great wilderness. These forty years I have been with you; you have lacked for nothing.’”

fed you in the wilderness with manna(which your ancestors had never before known) so that he might by humbling you test you and eventually bring good to you.

You guided them with a pillar of cloud by day and with a pillar of fire by night to illumine for them the path they were to travel.

He gave a command to the clouds above, and opened the doors in the sky.

So I made a vow in my anger,‘They will never enter into the resting place I had set aside for them.’”

to the one who led his people through the wilderness, for his loyal love endures,

“Go and declare in the hearing of the people of Jerusalem:‘This is what the LORD says:“I have fond memories of you, how devoted you were to me in your early years. I remember how you loved me like a new bride; you followed me through the wilderness, through a land that had never been planted.

I will bring you into the wilderness of the nations, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face.

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken afterward about another day.
