The LORD’s decisions stand forever; his plans abide throughout the ages.

The LORD of Heaven’s Armies makes this solemn vow:“Be sure of this: Just as I have intended, so it will be; just as I have planned, it will happen.

For even if you were to defeat all the Babylonian forces fighting against you so badly that only wounded men were left lying in their tents, they would get up and burn this city down.”’”

For I solemnly swear,” says the LORD,“that Bozrah will become a pile of ruins. It will become an object of horror and ridicule, an example to be used in curses. All the towns around it will lie in ruins forever.”

So listen to what I, the LORD, have planned against Babylon, what I intend to do to the people who inhabit the land of Babylonia. Their little ones will be dragged off. I will completely destroy their land because of what they have done.

But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.
