My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle and they come to an end without hope.

But I wish to speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God.

although there is no violence in my hands and my prayer is pure.

As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and that as the last he will stand upon the earth.

But he knows the pathway that I take; if he tested me, I would come forth like gold.

if the members of my household have never said,‘If only there were someone who has not been satisfied from Job’s meat!’–

Even when I must walk through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff reassure me.
