A Cry for Death“Oh that my request would be realized, and that God would grant me what I long for!

so that I would prefer strangling, and death more than life.

The clods of the torrent valley are sweet to him; behind him everybody follows in procession, and before him goes a countless throng.

But better than both is the one who has not been born and has not seen the evil things that are done on earth.
